Adopting AI without the hype: a practical starting point

AI can create real value quickly — if you start with a specific problem, grounded data, and clear success metrics. Here is how we approach it.

The fastest way to waste money on AI is to start with the technology instead of the problem. The teams that see real value do the opposite: they pick a specific, painful, repetitive task and ask whether intelligence applied there would save time or improve a decision.

Once you have a candidate problem, the next question is data. You rarely need a massive labelled dataset. Many of the highest-value AI solutions retrieve answers from documents you already have — help articles, policies, past tickets — and reason over them. That is often enough to start.

Then comes the part most projects skip: defining what good looks like before you build. Set clear evaluation criteria — accuracy, tone, safety — and measure against them continuously. Without this, you cannot tell whether the system is improving or drifting.

Finally, keep humans in the loop where the stakes require it. The goal is not to remove people; it is to remove the repetitive parts of their work and route judgement to them with the context they need. Done this way, AI becomes a dependable tool rather than an unpredictable experiment.

Let’s build what’s next.
